One of the greatest romanian opera singers

2004

Originally from Oradea, baritone Florin Estefan  attended the Faculty of Music at the State University in his hometown, and graduated from the Gheorghe Dima  Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca ; becoming a  soloist of the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca, from second year of studies, at the age of 20.

2007

In December 2007, he graduated from the first   promotion of the Cardiff International Academy Of Voice, with the famous tenor Dennis O’Neill as his   singing teacher.

2012

He returned as a soloist of The Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca, going on to become General Manager of the renowned opera institution in   February 2015, being the youngest manager in the 97-   year history of the first opera institution established in   Romania.

2016

He obtained the title of Doctor of Music at the Cluj Academy of Music, as well as the “Best Soloist of   the Year” award at the Bucharest National Opera, at the Gala of National Operas, for the interpretation in the  title role of Evgheni Oneghin in the production of the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca.

2017

 Starting from 2017, Florin Estefan holds the position of   doctoral university lecturer at the Singing Department of the Gheorghe Dima National Music Academy of Cluj-Napoca.


As a soloist, Florin Estefan won numerous competitions and performed on various stages both in Romania and abroad (Greece, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland, Japan, United States, Australia and Great Britain, Bulgaria, Egypt), performing a series of important roles.
As General Manager of the Romanian National Opera in Cluj-Napoca, Florin Estefan managed to increase the participation of young people in the institution’s performances, through numerous premieres and event performances, through a new approach to the public and through programs and projects intended for everyone, in unconventional spaces , with free access, such as Opera Aperta and La Opera.
